I hope that you’re doing well and are enjoying the longer days as we move towards spring.
Both Squamish and Whistler saw 19 sales in January, which remains below typical January sales volumes in both markets. In Whistler, 21% of sales went for the asking price, 16% went for over, and 63% went for under. In Squamish, 5% went for over the asking price, while 95% went for under asking.
Geopolitical tensions remains a factor affecting confidence. On the other hand, interest rate hikes appear to be on pause, and many believe that cuts may come by the end of 2023.
There’s been a noted uptick in buyer activity since the beginning of the year and I’m getting the sense that many who have been waiting on the sidelines are gearing up to make their moves. There’s also been some notable sales, particularly in Whistler, that have shown the resiliency of the market.
Have a great month and reach out anytime!
